Conference Highlights

Plenary speakers, Dr. Xiao-Ming Yang and Dr. Huaxin Xu, will speak about their recently published book Errors of Creativity: An Analysis of Lexical Errors Created by Chinese ESL Students

Dr. Dara Shaw of West Virginia University will give a presentation on the effects of 9-11 on university ESL programs and their recruitment.

Cathy Shank, Special Populations Coordinator through RESA III, will do a workshop on using the public television series Crossroads Cafe with ESL students.

Anita Nedeff and Susan Seitz, ESL educators from Monongalia County ,will talk about the ESL curriculum which they have recently developed for their county.

Mickey Monohan who teaches ESL classes for RESA VIII will speak on the issues surrounding the use of interpreters for meetings involving ESL students, teachers, and/or parents.



Conference will be held from 9AM to 4PM, with registration, donuts and coffee at 8:30 in the Fireside Room #305, Turley Center, Left Side.

Cost for the conference is $7.00 for WVTESOL Members and $12.00 for nonmembers. (The cost includes food and beverages: morning coffee and pastries.)
